Welcome to the website of the 1st International VIB Ph.D. Symposium, a symposium organised by and for Ph.D. students from different areas in the life sciences. This symposium aims to provide answers to topics that may concern every Ph.D. student, such as the future of science, new emerging technologies and research fields, as well as our future careers. The symposium is spread over two days and would tackle four broad subjects: Future Technologies, Mind and Evolution, Drug Discovery, and, finally, Science Careers.The organizing committee specifically looked for scientists which could give an enthusiastic and inspiring presentation, mixing the results of their work with the trends and challenges of both their own field and related areas.
